What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it removed.

Last updated 2 September 2026

1. Who is responsible

AltGAN Pvt Ltd decides how your data is handled on altgan.com. Reach us at contact@altgan.com.

2. What we collect

You give us

  • Name, email, and phone number when you register or enquire.
  • Your sign-in identity, through our authentication provider.
  • Work you submit for review, including repository links and code.
  • Anything you write to us in a form or by email.

We record automatically

  • Pages viewed, features used, and broad device and browser information.
  • The campaign or link that brought you to the site, where one is present.

We do not store your card details. Payments go directly to our payment gateway, which handles the card data itself.

3. Why we use it

  • To give you access to what you bought, and to run cohorts and reviews.
  • To contact you about your enrolment, a submission, or a session.
  • To understand which parts of the product are used, so we can improve them.
  • To measure whether our marketing works, at an aggregate level.
  • To meet our tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

We send marketing email only where you have opted in, and every such email has an unsubscribe link. Operational email about something you bought is not marketing and will still reach you.

4. Who else sees it

We share data with the services that make the product work, and only what each one needs: our authentication provider, our payment gateway, our email provider, our hosting and database providers, and our product analytics provider. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are used to count visits and to see which pages lead to an enrolment. You can block cookies in your browser; sign-in will not work without the essential ones.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account and enrolment records: while your account is open, and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Submitted work and review notes: while your access lasts, so you can go back to them.
  • Analytics: in aggregate, indefinitely; identifiable event data for a limited retention window.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Stop sending you marketing email.

Write to contact@altgan.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your access to anything you bought, and that is not reversible.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted to the people who need it, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

9. Children

AltGAN is meant for working engineers and students in higher education. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Grievance officer

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, complaints about the handling of your data can be sent to our grievance contact at contact@altgan.com.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed; material changes will be emailed to registered users.
